We Did It - Take 2

Back at the track in Trexlertown, again, to receive an award for the record-breaking ride for Life without Lupus. A very nice crowd saluted and cheered my A-team for helping me get around that day this past April, those with Lupus who benefited from this crazy ride, the wonderful Curt Bond, 24-hr track and world record holder who was there to hand off the trophy and for me for having the tenacity and focus to get it done. It's a new day for the cycling world to recognize the effort Lupus research needs to develop new treatments and a cure. A whole new audience is aware of something they probably never would have without the benefit of cycling. Fantastic.

Hey Chris, I'm so impressed with what you did for your daughter and lupus patients everywhere. I had heard of it plenty of times, but never knew what it really meant. Now I do, thanks to your efforts. Consider my awareness raised, sir.

You're just the kind of person we appreciate - someone who takes his role of making a difference seriously.

Thank you.

Chris, you are a very admirable person for doing that. I didn't know what lupus was, didn't have any idea how dangerous it is and thanks to you I know a little more and can talk to the people around me about it. The world needs more people like you. I'm glad your daughter's okay now :)

I had no idea it was such a widespread condition. My niece is pretty likely to have something similar (they're still doing some tests), but I'm pretty sure it's not Lupus. Some complicated name shortened to an acronym. I'm so thankful hers is treatable.

What an awesome way to raise awareness. You must be such a dedicated father. Good on you. :-)

It's amazing to see the picture of you on the bike, so fit and strong. I can't imagine the hard work and effort that must have gone into being able to achieve this excellent goal. Well done! :-)

What an amazing personal accomplishment and one that was made so much sweeter but knowing you raised awareness for a disease that few know of but many suffer from.

Sometimes, when I get discouraged and think it's so difficult to actually make a difference, I fins someone like you that actually has and it restores hope.

Thank you for sharing this and all you are doing to help others learn about lupus.

Your daughter is so lucky to have a loving father who would want to raise awareness and demonstrate such love in a tangible, affirming manner. Your efforts have inspired and educated so many people! Thank you.

Chris you are such an inspiration to all of us! I have two friends with Lupus in the family. One friend had a family member die from Lupus, and I have Fibromyalgia. So I know all too well how it affects everything.
I am deeply touched by your acomplishments and your story. Congratulations!

Cheers!

Chris,

I am inspired by your family's story on so many levels. Thank you for not only giving so much of yourself to this cause, but for being a megaphone of hope to others. Thanks for not giving in!

Your website has taught me so much about Lupus. My friend succumbed to complications of Lupus two years ago, and I confess I didn't understand anything about the disease when she passed. Now, I do.

You and your family are in my prayers.

Much love from Japan,
SJA

Wow Chris, I don't think I've ever accomplished anything that challenging in my life, and all my personal triumphs were mainly to serve myself. I didn't know anything about Lupus, I certainly didn't know there were 1.5 million cases in the US alone. If I think of how many stadiums of people that is, it's just overwhelming.

I'm humbled by your cycling achievement, good for you for putting it to such a good use.
